
Dr. Unsdorfer was born and raised in South Euclid, a suburb of Cleveland. Dr. Unsdorfer and his wife Jane have lived in Medina since 1987. Jane has been a kindergarten teacher at St. Francis Xavier school in Medina since 1994. They have three sons, Daniel, Matthew, and Kyle. All three of their sons earned the distinction of being named captain of their varsity sports teams ( Dan- Cross County, Matt and Kyle - Soccer) while they competed for Medina High School. They each have gone on to attend the Ohio State University, the younger two are completing their undergraduate studies.
In 2008, the Unsdorfers' added a new member to their family, Diego Von Gaishauser, a male German Shepherd. Diego attained his Canine Good Citizen award from the AKC at 11 months, then became a certified therapy dog at 13 months of age. He is a member of Goldstar Therapy Dogs of Medina. Many of the residents of our long term care facilities around Medina can attest to the fact that Diego loves to meet and greet old and new friends alike. Dr. Unsdorfer completed his undergraduate study at Ohio State University in 1980 and received his Doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1984. He then completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Genesee and Wheelock Memorial Hospitals in Flint, Michigan in 1985.
Dr. Unsdorfer is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a member in good standing of the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association where he was named "Young Podiatrist of the Year" in 1992. Dr. Unsdorfer is also a member of the Mideastern Academy of the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association where he was past president in 1992 and 1993. He additionally maintains membership in the American Podiatric Medical Association , The Medina County Medical Society, and MENSA International.
